The success of the pursued by the Government reform of healthcare will lead to overall success of the citizens who in fact will get high quality service, while doctors - high-quality working conditions and decent salaries. This was stated by Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman. He emphasized that the situation in medicine needs change, as for decades this industry saw «the struggle for money flows, instead of fight for the quality of service». «And I have also lost my loved ones through the incapacity of our healthcare industry, the inability to save lives. And this pain accompanies many of us through life», - said Volodymyr Groysman, - «So we should change the situation and we will change it».
The Head of Government stressed that this process would take time. And even the developed nations of the world pursue such reforms for decades. «For 3-5 years we will change the situation. It will be different next year. What is necessary we will pay for the service. For people, everything will be free! But each institution should make aware of it should see a patient, provide him with high quality service», - said Volodymyr Groysman, - «It will take time. But now we are introducing a system in which «money follows the patient». It is you (citizens) who will decide where to pay for the service. And it's nonsense that someone of the patients will pay. I want to appeal to politicians and people: the reform doesn’t envisage that (payment for services by the patient). We will pay for the patient and for the care about the citizens».
The Prime Minister stressed that in the process of transformations discomfort and misunderstanding are possible. But every issue can be solved. «We are building cardiology centers, we have launched The Available Medicines program - currently millions of Ukrainians receive medication for free. We are creating the infrastructure and we have to introduce a new system within», - said Volodymyr Groysman, – «Here, the responsibility is the main aspect in the process of the introduction of changes».
