During a dialogue with the business community at the Kyiv International Economic Forum, Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal emphasized three advantages of Ukraine that will allow for a quick recovery: human capital, processing enterprises, development of the military-industrial complex.
“While Ukrainian defenders are fighting for our state, we must do our part and contribute to the victory. The Government is working to develop the economy, and continues to implement reforms and build a strategy for the restoration of our state,” the Head of Government said.
The Prime Minister stressed that the Government is interested in increasing added value, and therefore already supports creation of processing enterprises in the medium-sized segment through the eRobota grant program. According to the Head of Government, an agreement has been reached with USAID to support this activity starting next year.
The Government also continues to support Ukrainian producers. Denys Shmyhal noted that during the war Ukraine had agreed on a free trade zone with the EU, Canada, the UK and Australia.
“We are working on the extension of these agreements, as well as have a number of draft agreements to be signed in the near future,” said the Prime Minister.
The Head of Government noted that after the war Ukraine expects a significant inflow of capital. Much attention will be paid to public-private partnership projects, concessions, and he believes that Ukrainian business will play a key role in this strategy.
