At its session, the Government has adopted two decisions, thereby stipulating for the allocation of additional financing to the tune of UAH 322 million to pay compensation to employees of state-owned coal mines.

The draft Order “On redistribution of some state budget expenditures envisaged for the Ministry of Energy and Environmental Protection for 2019” and the draft Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers “On amendments to the Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine of April 24, 2019 No. 393” were endorsed on December 18 by the Government.

The source of the funding for payments was the redistribution of unspent budgetary allocations within the total budgetary resources envisaged for the purposes of the Ministry of Energy and Environmental Protection for 2019.

The decisions are aimed to help stabilize the social situation in the miners' collectives and pay off arrears of wages.
