During its session on November 10, the Cabinet of Ministers decided to start establishing a vertically integrated company with the participation of the state-owned Centrenergo.

"The company will be merged with the state mines into a single structure. This will allow ensuring uninterrupted supply of coal for Centerenergo, while state-owned mines will receive a clear sales channel, a normal level of payments and opportunities for modernization," said Denys Shmyhal.

According to the Head of the Government, the decision concerns the resumption of operation of the enterprise Energy Company of Ukraine, on the basis of which the merger will take place.

Meanwhile, the Prime Minister stressed that the Government would not abandon plans to privatize Centerenergo, seeing that the creation of a company with both production and generation functions would only increase interest during the open auction.
