The Government continues to strengthen the capacity of the medical system. Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal dwelled on that during introductory speech at the Government sitting on November 3.
The Head of Government thanked all medical workers who have been fighting the COVID-19 pandemic for the second year in a row.
"In a number of regions, there is a real peak load on doctors, medical institutions and the medical system in general. I was in the regions and saw that the situation is really difficult and needs intervention in some places," said the Prime Minister.
During the meeting, the Cabinet of Ministers approved the redistribution of additional subsidies to the local budgets of Kirovohrad and Odesa regions, which will be directed to the maintenance of health care facilities. Also,a sum worth UAH 56 million of the subvention will be directed to Sumy and Cherkasy regions for the purchase of oxygen concentrators. To strengthen the capacity of laboratory centers in Kherson and Dnipropetrovsk regions, UAH 4.1 million will be redistributed for the purchase of additional PCR systems.
In addition, Denys Shmyhal reminded that the Government has already allocated UAH 400 million to the regions for the purchase of oxygen stations.
"The only way to support doctors and, most importantly, to protect their own health is through vaccination and compliance with anti-epidemic quarantine rules. Ukraine has a sufficient number of vaccines for everyone. We are in constant contact with the manufacturers to ensure the uninterrupted supply of a safe vaccine for Ukrainians, "the Prime Minister stressed.
