  • Government allocates UAH 1 billion to pay wages to miners and makes a number of other critical decisions

    Today, on October 12, at its meeting, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine approved the changes to the State Budget for 2019, thereby having allocated UAH 1 billion for payment of arrears of wages to miners.

    The amendments approved by the Government will be immediately submitted to the Verkhovna Rada with a request to consider and endorse them as soon as possible.

    The Cabinet of Ministers also commissioned NJSC Naftogaz of Ukraine, Ukrzaliznytsia, Ukrposhta and other key central executive authorities to carry out a detailed analysis and balance sheet clean-up, the balances of their subsidiaries and established entities and to determine the appropriateness of maintaining excess property taking into account strategic development plans. The property that will be determined as redundant or non-core for the activity – is to be the subject to selling or lease at a market price in a transparent manner through Prozorro. Sales.

    Moreover, the Government approved a decision on urgent measures that will allow to ensure the supply of natural gas for district heating providers in Donetsk and Luhansk regions (controlled areas) to ensure the sustainable passage of the 2019-2020heating season.

    At the meeting, the Government adopted a number of personnel decisions.

    Hence, the Government has appointed two Deputy Ministers of Energy and Environmental Protection, namely Roman Abramovskyy and Oleksiy Riabchyn.

    The Government dismissed the following officials:

    Yanchuk Artem from the post of the State Secretary at the Ministry of Health of Ukraine;

    Yevdochenko Leonid from the post of Head of the State Service for Special Communications and Information Protection;

    Petruk Vitalii from the post of the Head of the State Agency of Ukraine on Exclusion Zone Management. The CMU announced a competition for the mentioned position. Feshchenko Volodymyr, Deputy Chairman, is appointed as acting Head of the State Agency on Exclusion Zone Management.

    Besides, the Government dismissed Ihor Yakovlev from the post of First Deputy Chairman of the State Environmental Inspectorate and appointed Viktor Kantsurak as acting Chairman.

    Moreover, the Government fired Andrii Kravchenko from his post as Deputy Chairman of the State Agency of Fisheries of Ukraine.

    The Government also announced a competition for the post of the Head of the State Regulatory Service and amended the composition of the Commission on Senior Civil Service.
