The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine announces with deep sadness that on February 14, at the age of 64, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine to the People's Republic of China Serhiy Kamyshev passed away.

Serhii Kamyshev started working at the Foreign Ministry in the first years after Ukraine had gained independence and devoted more than two decades of his life to working in the diplomatic field. He personally made significant efforts to build relations with Asia and the Middle East, twice - in 2004-2009 and 2019-2021 - headed the Embassy of Ukraine in China.

By his example of professionalism, Serhii Kamyshev inspired many generations of Ukrainian diplomats who, having learned from his experience and knowledge, are now working in responsible positions, both in the central office of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and abroad.

The Government of Ukraine expresses its deepest condolences to the family and relatives of the deceased in connection with this irreparable loss.
