    In view of the termination of the Mission’s current mandate, the Government approved the decision to extend its mandate for the next 36 months, starting from 1 December 2020 till 30 November 2023.

    Prolongation of the EUBAM’s mandate will allow:

    • to enhance the fight against customs offences, corruption and smuggling;
    • to adapt the EU standards on integrated border management with the EU expert assistance.

    The EU Mission (EUBAM) acts in accordance with the Memorandum of Understanding between the Government of Ukraine, the Government of the Republic of Moldova and the European Commission of 7 October 2005.
