After the full-scale russian invasion, almost a third of Ukrainians were forced to flee their homes, and the state responds by creating the institutional framework to help internally displaced persons (IDPs).
On June 28, the Government supported the proposal of the Ministry for Reintegration of the Temporary Occupied Territories to introduce the position of the IDP Commissioner, a key official in the country that protects the rights of displaced citizens.
The Commissioner shall have the status of Deputy Minister for Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Territories of Ukraine and shall coordinate the shaping and implementation of state policy on internal displacement.
The Commissioner will be appointed shortly.
