Ukrainian Government announced the beginning of the selection process for positions of independent members of the Supervisory Board of the PJSC Ukrhidroenergo and for the position of Сhairman of the Board of PJSC State Food and Grain Corporation of Ukraine.
The selection process is conducted by the Committee for the appointment of heads and members of supervisory boards of state-owned enterprises of particular importance for the Ukrainian economy.
“All the state-run enterprises must have modern and professional management and work for achieving clear strategic goals. This is the key factor which will guarantee the best results both for the State and for the enterprise”, emphasized the Minister of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine Oleksandr Saienko, who is a member of the Appointment Committee.
Hiring the professional, experienced and unbiased Supervisory Boards for state-owned enterprises is an important part of the reform of public enterprises.
In March 2018, the Government reorganized the work of the Appointments Committee, and these changes received approval from the IMF, EBRD and IFC, which are now actively involved in its work. In order to eliminate political pressure and attract qualified candidates with a global expertise in the process of sourcing and evaluating candidates, leading companies specializing in sourcing administration staff are involved. The updated Appointment Committee has already formed independent Supervisory Boards for such major state-owned enterprises as: Ukrzaliznytsia, Ukrenergo, Ukrposhta, the Administration of Seaports of Ukraine, and Boryspil International Airport.
