The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine intends to offer to increase the amount of financing road network construction activities up to UAH 75 billion in the process of the drafting State Budget for 2020. Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman announced while visiting the site of the reconstruction of the road section of M-06 Kyiv-Chop route. This area is a northern bypass of Zhytomyr city 22.3 km long. It is part of the international transport corridor, but for a long time was the road of the so-called second category - only two lanes and the need for permanent pothole patching.

A year ago the road reconstruction blueprint was approved. The financing was provided by international partners - the European Investment Bank and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development. According to the plan, in June 2020, there should actually be a new four-lane road with 4 two-level interchanges, 3 railway crossings. The road surface is cement concrete produced in Ukraine. After putting the site into operation, the condition of the road surface will be carefully checked for two years.

Commenting on the course of reconstruction, the Head of Government reminded that over two years in Ukraine, almost 7 thousand km of road networks have been repaired and built. The volume of financing of works was increasing from year to year. This year it made up UAH 56 billion.

"Next year we will offer the budget of the Road Fund worth at least UAH 75 billion. This will enable to increase the volume of construction of high-quality roads", said Volodymyr Groysman.
