At its meeting, the Cabinet of Ministers approved a bill amending the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The document proposes to establish criminal liability for persons who involve children in participating in illegal paramilitary or armed formations. Such action envisages imprisonment for a term of 10 to 15 years.

The document also provides for increased responsibility for involving children in criminal activities. If such actions have caused grave consequences for underage or juvenile persons, imprisonment for a term of 10 to 15 years will be imposed.

“Children enjoy enhanced protection by the State. Criminals bear a strict liability,” Prime Minister Oleksiy Honcharuk emphasized.
