September 9, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine at its sitting supported the draft law elaborated by the Ministry of Infrastructure  "On Amendments to the Law of Ukraine "On Motor Vehicle Transport". The document clearly defines in the legislation of Ukraine the terms “electric vehicle” (“electric car”), “electric bus”, “electric car charging station”, “electric truck”, “electric car”, “hybrid electric car”, “plug-in hybrid electric car”. This was announced by Minister of Infrastructure Vladyslav Kryklii.

"We are gradually moving towards the widespread use of more environmentally friendly transport. Electric cars have become an integral part of our lives and will continue to grow. And the better the Government, the Verkhovna Rada and the State help increase the level of electric cars in Ukraine, the faster this movement will take place. For example, one such initiative supported by the Government today is a draft law developed by the Ministry of Infrastructure that finally clearly identifies the key terms and concepts related to electric mobility. I hope that the Parliament will shortly support this document. After all, thousands of Ukrainians are waiting for these changes, who now use or want to start using electric vehicles," the Minister said.

Vladyslav Kryklii also recalled the MPs support in the first reading of the draft laws №3476 and №3477, which are aimed at stimulating the development of electric transport in Ukraine, as well as the draft law №3023, which introduces clear rules for the use of personal electric vehicles, which improves road safety.
