The Government of Germany expresses readiness to further promote the development of Ukraine's social infrastructure, stressed participants of a working meeting of Deputy Minister of Social Policy of Ukraine Oleh Koval with representatives of the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany, the German Society for International Cooperation (GIZ) in Ukraine and German Development Bank (KfW).
Oleh Koval expressed gratitude to the German Government for the fruitful cooperation in the implementation of social support projects for vulnerable segments of the Ukrainian population, especially for helping to resolve the problems of displaced persons.
“It is important for us to undertake activities that envisage support for local governments and consolidated territorial communities aimed to improve the quality of social services. Our main objective is to bring social services to the people,” he said.
The parties agreed on the development of community support projects in creating the necessary infrastructure to provide services, introducing best practices for social work in Ukrainian communities.
“Setting up an effective system to ensure the effective provision of social services is impossible without educational and methodological support. We need to ensure training of personnel,” Oleh Koval stressed.
The participants of the meeting stressed the importance of implementing projects of social and psychological support of the population in the controlled by the Ukrainian authorities territories of Donetsk and Luhansk regions.
