Infrastructure in the four western regions of Ukraine affected by the June floods requires additional funding from the State Budget Reserve Fund. This was stated by Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal during a regular meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine on October 21.

"It is of paramount importance for our Government to provide full support to the people affected by such emergencies. At this meeting, we will allocate additional funds for Zakarpattia," the Prime Minister stressed.

Denys Shmyhal noted that the sum worth UAH 37 million for Zakarpattia Regional State Administration would primarily be used to restore the infrastructure of the affected region.

"The resource will be used to restore bridges and bridge crossings, local roads, as well as measures to strengthen the banks of rivers, where the destruction of the relevant coastal strip occurred," said Denys Shmyhal.

In addition, Denys Shmyhal instructed to speed up the work on allocating funds for Kharkiv region, where more than 20 homes had been burned by fires.

Moreover, the Prime Minister announced the allocation of almost UAH 90 million from the Reserve Fund of the State Budget for implementation of measures to prevent fires in Chornobyl Exclusion Zone.

"The funds will be transferred to improve the logistics of the subdivision of the State Agency of Ukraine on Exclusion Zone Management," the Prime Minister stressed.
