Cabinet of Ministers changes procedure for conducting electricity auctions – Ukrenergo can take part in special auctions to cover technological costs

The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has amended the Procedure for conducting electronic auctions for the sale of electricity under bilateral agreements.

The decision grants the transmission system operator (NPC Ukrenergo) the right to participate in special sessions for the sale of electricity purchase packages in order to cover technological costs during martial law. This will enable the operator to purchase electricity at special auctions at more predictable and often lower prices.

The implementation of the Government's decision shall optimise the tariff for electricity transmission services and, accordingly, reduce the cost of electricity for consumers, in particular industry.

At the same time, it should be noted that transmission tariffs do not affect the final price for domestic consumers.
