At its meeting on 18 July, the Cabinet of Ministers approved a procedure defining the criteria for a territory of recovery. This was announced by Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal.
“This is the territory where hostilities took place, the territory that was fully or partially occupied, the territory where critical and social infrastructure facilities and housing were destroyed, and the territory with a significant population displacement,” the Prime Minister said.
In addition, the Government is creating a mechanism to develop, implement and monitor the implementation of recovery plans for communities and regions. According to Denys Shmyhal, these plans must include tasks and measures, financial needs and possible sources of funding, performance indicators, and a list of specific projects.
“We provide local authorities with a clear algorithm of actions and count on them to work quickly and efficiently. The speed of recovery depends on the synergy of efforts at all levels of government. That is, the quality of life of millions of people and the prospects for Ukrainians returning home from abroad,” the Head of Government stressed.
