Government approves UAH 6,500 payment under the Winter Support package

The Government has approved a programme for one-off cash payments of UAH 6,500 to the most vulnerable categories of citizens under the Winter Support package. This was announced by Prime Minister of Ukraine Yulia Svyrydenko.
“The programme is designed for those who need the greatest support: orphans, children under guardianship, children with disabilities in foster families, internally displaced children, IDPs with disabilities, and elderly people living alone,” stated Yulia Svyrydenko.
Funds will be credited automatically through the Pension Fund.
The programme is scheduled to launch in early December. The money can be spent on medicines, clothing, and footwear. It will cover more than 660,000 people.
