On 5 July, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine approved an up-to-date list of medium-term priorities for sectoral innovation activities.

The approved document details the priority areas of innovation activity at the national level, which were updated by Resolution No. 220 of the Cabinet of Ministers dated 1 March 2024.

The areas are grouped into the following thematic blocks according to the strategic priorities defined by law:

• National security and defence
• Energy and energy efficiency
• Development of the transport system
• New materials production technologies
• Agro-industrial complex
• Healthcare
• Environmental protection
• Information and communication technologies and robotics.

This decision will ensure the implementation of medium-term priority areas of industry-level innovation, updated in line with the needs of martial law and Ukraine’s recovery.

The list is based on proposals from central executive authorities and takes into account the current needs in each industry. It will be valid until 31 December of the year following the termination or cancellation of martial law in Ukraine.
