Government introduces additional support for livestock farming

The state will reimburse agricultural producers up to 25% of the costs for constructing or renovating facilities, including farms and milking parlours. This decision, aimed at advancing livestock farming, was adopted by the Government at its meeting on 6 August.

“Increased state support will boost the development of Ukrainian livestock farming. Ukraine has significant potential to develop its meat and dairy industries, with products destined for both domestic and international markets,” said Taras Vysotskyi, Deputy Minister of Economy, Environment and Agriculture.

Under the resolution, up to 25% of the costs (excluding VAT) for constructing or renovating farms, milking parlours, or facilities for processing animal by-products will be reimbursed.

Reimbursement will be available for facilities where construction or renovation began no earlier than 24 February 2022 and which were commissioned between 1 January and 30 September 2025.

In the future, such support will apply to facilities commissioned between October and December of the previous year and January to September of the current year.

Applications will be accepted following an announcement in the State Agrarian Register and will continue until 20 October of the current year. Document reviews will take place until 5 December 2025.

Additional state support for livestock farming will:

• Encourage the maintenance of breeding livestock and promote the development of cattle farming;
• Reduce costs for constructing and renovating livestock farms and complexes;
• Strengthen the country’s food security.
