The processing of applications from residents of Kherson and Mykolaiv regions for compensation for lost crops continues. So far, more than 340 applications have been submitted and payments totalling UAH 2.7 million have been approved. This was announced by Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal at a Government session on 22 August.
“We have allocated almost UAH 565 million to pay UAH 5,000 to each person affected by russia’s blowing up of the Kakhovka HPP. 17,500 people have applied for compensation and UAH 54.6 million has already been paid out. Applications will be accepted until the end of October, so that everyone who needs help has time to apply,” the Head of Government stressed.
According to the Prime Minister, the Government has allocated another UAH 1.3 billion for the reconstruction of damaged and destroyed housing in the area affected by the russian terrorist attack. He stressed that people in Mykolaiv and Kherson regions would have the means to repair their homes before winter.
In total, the Government has allocated UAH 4.6 billion for all measures related to the consequences of the HPP blow-up. According to the Prime Minister, almost 32% of these funds have already been spent to finance works and pay compensation.
