UAH 140.3 million has been allocated from the State Budget Reserve Fund to provide financial assistance to people who have returned from captivity and to the families of those who are still in captivity. The relevant resolution was adopted at a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers on 11 July.

In particular, the document earmarks UAH 111.3 million for annual state financial assistance to the families of political prisoners, civilian hostages and prisoners of war. It will be paid in the amount of UAH 100,000 for each year that such persons are held in places of detention.

In addition, UAH 29 million will be allocated to pay UAH 100,000 in one-off state financial assistance to those released from captivity.

The funds will be transferred to the bank accounts of these persons by the Ministry of Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Territories of Ukraine.
