Government allocates over UAH 107 million to restore energy facility in Sumy region

The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has provided the Sumy Regional Military Administration with UAH 107.07 million from the state budget's reserve fund to restore an energy facility damaged by Russian shelling.

The facility's operation is critical to maintaining a stable heating supply for nearly 160,000 households. It sustained significant damage in a Russian attack on 30 June 2026, requiring urgent restoration work.

"The stable operation of this energy facility determines whether nearly 160,000 households have heating in their homes. Our task is to restore the damaged infrastructure as quickly as possible and ensure it is ready for the heating season. To this end, the Government is directing more than UAH 107 million from the state budget's reserve fund," said Vitalii Kindrativ, Deputy Minister of Economy, Environment and Agriculture of Ukraine.

The restoration work is expected to be completed by 31 October 2026, ensuring that Sumy region's critical energy infrastructure is ready for the 2026/27 heating season.
