Government allocates additional UAH 7.7 billion to fund housing programmes for IDPs from temporarily occupied territories

The Government has allocated an additional UAH 7.7 billion to fund housing programmes for internally displaced persons from temporarily occupied territories. This was announced by Prime Minister of Ukraine Yulia Svyrydenko.

Of this amount:

• UAH 6.6 billion will be directed to the eVidnovlennia programme for IDPs from temporarily occupied territories.

These funds will provide housing for more than 3,300 families who hold the status of combatants or persons with war-related disabilities.

“The state is providing housing vouchers worth UAH 2 million per person or family whose homes remain in temporarily occupied territory. These vouchers can be used to purchase housing on the primary or secondary market, or to pay a deposit or repay a mortgage on a new-build property,” said the Head of Government.

Applications for the eVidnovlennia programme under the Housing for IDPs from TOT component can be submitted via Diia, and in the near future also through Administrative Service Centres or notaries.

• UAH 1.1 billion for the construction of social rental housing.

This housing will be provided to residents of Mariupol who lost their homes as a result of the war. A total of 505 families of displaced persons from Mariupol will be able to receive accommodation.

“The Government continues to secure additional funding to ensure housing for all applicants,” noted Yulia Svyrydenko.
