Government postpones mandatory use of payment terminals for Group 1 entrepreneurs

Department of Information and Public Communications of the Secretariat of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine, posted 29 December 2025 20:06

The Government has postponed the mandatory use of payment terminals for Group 1 sole proprietors until the end of martial law and for another three months after its repeal. This was announced by Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko.

"The decision was made in response to appeals from small businesses, for whom the maintenance of POS terminals currently creates additional financial pressure.

This will enable the smallest entrepreneurs to work and maintain their income in conditions of war, power outages, and logistical restrictions," the Head of Government emphasized.

According to her, the deferral also gives businesses time to prepare for the transition to cashless payments and choose a convenient payment method in the future: POS terminals, mobile applications, or QR codes.
