  • Government allocated another resource for compensation to persons who provided shelter to IDPs

Today, the Government has supported the allocation of more than UAH 32 million from the reserve fund of the state budget for compensation for the accommodation of displaced persons within the framework of the Prykhystok [Shelter – ed.] program.

The funds will be credited to regional budgets, the budget of the city of Kyiv, and the Ministry for Communities and Territories Development of Ukraine. From those sources, they will be transferred to homeowners who accommodated internally displaced persons free of charge in order to cover the costs of housing and communal services for July.

"The State fulfills the assumed obligations. There are delays with timely payments, but we will fully cover all debts to those who are ready to provide shelter to our people," said Deputy Prime Minister - Minister for Reintegration of Temporarily Occupied Territories Iryna Vereshchuk.

It should be noted that this program is a good example of cooperation between the State and volunteers. It envisages providing compensation for housing and communal services to those who sheltered IDPs from TOT or war zones free.

It is assumed that starting from October 1, the owners of housing who accommodated IDPs will receive UAH 900 instead of UAH 450 per each such person per month.
