Government clarifies procedure for submitting paper applications for obtaining statuses

On Tuesday, 15 October, at the initiative of the Ministry for Veterans Affairs, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine amended Procedures No. 685 and No. 740 for granting the status of a person with a disability caused by war and the status of a family member of a deceased defender of Ukraine.

The amendments regulate, in particular, the process of submitting such an application in paper form. From now on, this can be done at the place of registration, by contacting the local structural unit on veterans’ policy, including by mail, or through the Administrative Service Centre.

In addition, the amendments define the list of bodies to which the local structural unit for veterans’ policy will send a request for documents if the applicant does not have them.

“The Ministry for Veterans Affairs continues to address the issue of simplifying the procedure for obtaining statuses. And today the Government has made an important step in this direction. After all, obtaining state guarantees, benefits and services depends on fast, simple, clear algorithms for all parties.
