Government adopts decision to cancel 204 regulatory instruments: Denys Shmyhal

The Government has adopted a number of decisions to cancel 204 more regulatory instruments in various areas. This was announced by Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal during a meeting of the Cabinet on 8 April.

According to him, 150 regulatory instruments in the field of healthcare and sanitary control, 15 instruments in the areas of labour protection, trade, construction and fire safety, as well as 22 instruments related to law enforcement, environment, agriculture and other areas have been cancelled.

“From now on, there will be no need to obtain approval for a project to re-profile an enterprise, obtain a sanitary passport for a vehicle, take a conclusion on the possibility of building a health facility, etc. The economic effect of the decisions taken today will amount to more than UAH 600 million,” said Denys Shmyhal.

According to the Prime Minister, it is planned to repeal more than a hundred other regulatory instruments in the near future, most of which fall within the competence of the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Natural Resources, the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Economy.

“The relevant protocol instructions have been given to these and other government agencies,” he said.

Denys Shmyhal stressed that systemic deregulation was one of the Government’s areas of work, which had been identified as one of the key tasks in the economic policy.

According to Denys Shmyhal, an interregional deregulation group had been working effectively before the start of the full-scale war, and more than 1,600 regulatory acts had been cancelled. In addition, in 2023, an Interagency Working Group on Deregulation was established, which has cancelled 138 regulatory instruments to date.
