Government approves list of foreign accreditation and quality assurance agencies for higher education

Today, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has adopted a resolution to update the list of foreign accreditation agencies and quality assurance agencies for higher education.

According to the results of the monitoring of the European Quality Assurance Register for Higher Education (EQAR), the following agencies were excluded from the list:

• Accreditation, Certification and Quality Assurance Institute (Germany);
• EQ-Arts – Enhancing Quality in the Arts (Netherlands).

The list has also been supplemented with foreign accreditation and quality assurance agencies that are members of EQAR:

• Canarian Agency for Quality Assessment and Accreditation (Spain);
• Valencian Agency for Assessment and Forecasting (Spain);
• European Council for Theological Education (Germany);
• Hellenic Authority for Higher Education (Greece);
• Slovak Accreditation Agency for Higher Education (Slovakia).

Background

The list of foreign accreditation agencies and quality assurance agencies for higher education, whose certificates of accreditation of educational programmes are recognised in Ukraine, was approved in 2019 pursuant to the Law of Ukraine “On higher education”.
