Government adopts decision to ensure more efficient distribution of electricity
At the initiative of the Ministry of Energy, the Government adopted a decision aimed at improving the management of available electricity capacity and enhancing the resilience of the power system in emergency situations. This was announced by First Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine – Minister of Energy Denys Shmyhal.
The decision provides for improvements to the procedure for determining and applying electricity consumption limits, taking into account seasonal patterns in power system operation and electricity consumption levels.
In particular, lists of critical facilities will be compiled separately for the winter and summer periods. The procedure for taking into account electricity load measurement results during the winter and summer periods when preparing the respective lists will also be clarified.
These changes will help to:
improve the planning of available electricity distribution;
increase the amount of electricity available to household consumers;
ensure a more balanced distribution among regions;
enhance the stability of operation of Ukraine’s integrated power system.
The adopted changes will allow for greater flexibility in taking into account seasonal electricity consumption patterns, improve the efficiency of planning the distribution of available electricity capacity, and contribute to the stable operation of Ukraine’s integrated power system.
