Government adopts a series of decisions due to a significant deterioration in weather conditions and temperature drop
The Government has adopted appropriate decisions due to a significant worsening of weather conditions and a drop in air temperature. This was announced by Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko.
In particular, the Ministry of Education and Science, together with other central executive bodies, regional and Kyiv city military administrations, must immediately address the following issues:
• temporary suspension of offline education
• transition to distance learning or extension of winter holidays until at least January 19, 2026.
This applies to preschool, general secondary, vocational, pre-higher, and higher education institutions.
Decisions shall be made immediately, taking into account the conclusions of the Commissions on Technogenic and Environmental Safety and Emergencies and the actual situation in the regions.
It is also recommended that regional and Kyiv city military administrations, together with the Commissions on Technogenic and Environmental Safety and Emergencies, consider transferring the work of enterprises, institutions, and organizations to remote mode for the period of severe weather conditions, taking into account the situation in each region.
Local authorities are recommended to take these decisions into account within the limits of their powers.
At the same time, these recommendations do not apply to critical infrastructure facilities and other entities for which remote work is unacceptable under martial law.
“Our priorities are the safety of people, the health of children, and the stable operation of critical systems,” emphasized Yulia Svyrydenko.
