The Government has decided to set up an interagency working group on the use and recovery of frozen and confiscated russian sovereign assets in favour of Ukraine. This was announced by Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal during a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers on 14 February.
In addition, according to him, work continues on the development of an international compensation mechanism.
"We will do everything necessary to ensure that russia pays in full," the Head of Government stressed.
Denys Shmyhal underlined that one of the key elements of the financial stability of our country was USD 50 billion from partners secured by the profits from frozen russian assets.
"We must get access to these funds this year," the Prime Minister said and stressed that Ukraine's position remains clear and unchanged: all russian frozen assets must be fully confiscated and used to rebuild and strengthen the Ukrainian state.
