  • Government simplifies procedure for issuing veterinary documents
    Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine, posted 15 July 2024 17:24

    The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine adopted Resolution No. 811 “On amendments to some resolutions of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine on the provision of services in the field of veterinary medicine and in the field of identification and registration of animals". The Resolution complies with the requirements of European legislation.

    In particular, it cancels restrictions on the execution and issuance of veterinary documents by licensed veterinarians. Until now, licensed veterinarians have not been able to issue veterinary and sanitary passports for the identification of pets, including for the implementation of a pilot project for the identification or registration of pets.

    The Resolution also supplements the Procedure for implementation of the pilot project on identification or registration of pets with provisions on:

    • information on the unique number of the entry in the Register (if any) of the pet owner/keeper;
    • timeframes for entering information about the register items into the Pet Register;
    • reporting on issued, cancelled, written-off forms of veterinary and sanitary passports for animals with the imposition of a qualified electronic signature or seal;
    • determining the Administrator of the Pet Register of the State Service of Ukraine on Food Safety and Consumer Protection.
