Government simplifies rules for changing a child’s place of residence for families of prisoners of war and missing persons

The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has amended Resolution No. 265 of February 7, 2022, and updated the rules for registration and deregistration to support the families of defenders, eliminate unnecessary bureaucracy, and eliminate the requirement to collect unnecessary certificates.
What has changed?
The consent of the other parent is no longer required to register or deregister a minor child if that parent:
- has the status of “missing in action”;
- remains in captivity.
In such cases, the child is registered at the address of the parent who is processing the request.
