Government simplifies mechanism for receiving state support for families with children and expectant parents
The Government is simplifying the mechanism for receiving state support for families with children and expectant parents. Payments under state family support programmes will be available through a dedicated Diia.Card account. The list of eligible spending categories will also be expanded, while the time limit for using the funds will be removed. This was announced by Prime Minister of Ukraine Yulia Svyrydenko.
All payments will be transferred to a single account for all types of targeted assistance, including:
- compensation under the Baby Box programme;
- child benefits for children under one year of age;
- eYasla (eNursery);
- the School Starter Pack.
A dedicated Diia.Card account may be opened even before submitting an application, through the mobile application of the selected bank.
The Prime Minister explained that if a person subsequently applies for childcare support for a child under one year old or for eYasla – through an Administrative Services Centre, a territorial community authority or a Pension Fund office – the Unified Information System of the Social Sphere operated by the Ministry of Social Policy, Family and Unity will automatically retrieve the already opened dedicated Diia.Card account within seconds.
If a person has not opened a dedicated Diia.Card account in advance, the Unified System will generate a QR code during the application process. This will allow the applicant to quickly proceed to opening a Diia.Card account, complete the application and receive the payment much faster.
According to Yulia Svyrydenko, those who prefer to receive payments not through a dedicated Diia.Card account but via Oschadbank will have such accounts created upon application at an Administrative Services Centre, territorial community authority or Pension Fund office, under the existing mechanism.
“Information regarding the possibility of opening a dedicated Diia.Card account will be provided shortly. Accounts opened since 1 January 2026 remain valid, and funds will continue to be transferred to them,” the Prime Minister added.
