Government has disbursed over UAH 459 million to purchase equipment for specialized high schools

In 2026, 130 future specialized academic lyceums across 22 different regions of Ukraine will receive funding to set up STEM laboratories, natural sciences classrooms and purchase modern teaching equipment. These are schools that will become part of the specialized upper secondary school network from 2027. This was announced by the Prime Minister of Ukraine, Yulia Svyrydenko.

“The Government has allocated over UAH 459 million to the first 85 schools. The remaining 45 will receive funding in the near future,” said Yulia Svyrydenko.

Local authorities will have an opportunity to purchase equipment, multimedia resources and furniture. In total, UAH 3.2 billion has been allocated this year to modernise educational spaces — for pilot lyceums, gymnasiums and future academic lyceums.

“Upgrading school infrastructure is one of the key areas of the New Ukrainian School reform, aimed at creating the conditions for high-quality learning and the acquisition of practical skills. We are also updating the content of the curricula and creating opportunities for the professional development of teachers so that they can implement modern teaching methods more effectively,” said the Head of Government.
