The Cabinet of Ministers has approved a draft law on the ratification of the Framework Agreement between Ukraine and the United Kingdom to support the development of defence capabilities of the two countries. This was announced by Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal during a Cabinet of Ministers meeting on 31 January.
"Under this Agreement, the UK will provide us with up to GBP 2 billion for the purchase of air defence systems, air defence missiles, as well as for the organisation of repair bases for military equipment and other weapons," the Prime Minister stressed adding that these bases would be located in Ukraine.
Denys Shmyhal noted that this funding would help Ukraine enhance its defence capabilities and thanked the UK for the support.
