The Government has approved a decision to compensate water utility organisations for the cost of restoring and constructing reclamation systems. The corresponding Resolution No. 628 "On Amendments to the Procedure for Using Funds Provided in the State Budget for Providing State Support to Agricultural Producers Using Reclaimed Land and Water User Organisations" was adopted at a regular meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers.
The document was drafted by the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine.
According to the resolution, agricultural producers using reclaimed land may receive up to 50 per cent compensation for the cost of reconstruction and modernisation of existing or construction of new reclamation systems. Water management companies can receive up to 50 per cent compensation for the rehabilitation of pumping stations.
The amount of assistance for agricultural producers will be no more than UAH 26,500 per hectare of cultivated land subject to hydraulic reclamation, excluding the cost of irrigation machines.
The budgetary subsidy is provided for the works performed and reclamation systems put into operation for the period from 1 November 2023 to 31 October 2024.
Agricultural producers submit an application for budgetary funds and the documents attached thereto through the State Agrarian Register.
The start of the application process will be announced additionally on the website of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food.
