Government expands “5-7-9%” program to support Ukrainian farmers
The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has adopted a decision as part of an emergency support package for Ukrainian farmers affected by russian terror in the Black Sea and the blockade of export routes. This was announced by Prime Minister of Ukraine Sergii Koretskyi.
“We are amending the ‘5-7-9%’ program so that farmers can access concessional loans to replenish working capital. The state will compensate the difference in interest rates. The total amount of credit opportunities under this program is up to UAH 80 billion,” said the Prime Minister.
According to him, this will help farmers purchase everything necessary for fieldwork, maintain production, and ensure stable exports of Ukrainian products.
At the same time, work continues with the European Commission to attract additional support for expanding the concessional lending program.
The Prime Minister also noted that the Government would soon present further practical solutions to support farmers.
