Government extends regional resilience pilot project to critical infrastructure operators

The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has extended the scope of the pilot project on implementing regional resilience plans to include critical infrastructure operators. This was announced by First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Energy Denys Shmyhal.

The Government’s decision establishes a uniform framework for implementing resilience plans and measures across all critical infrastructure operators involved in their delivery.

Energy companies such as Naftogaz of Ukraine, the Gas Transmission System Operator of Ukraine, and Ukrenergo, which ensure the operation of critical systems and are involved in restoring and protecting energy infrastructure as well as developing distributed gas-fired generation, will now be able to implement their projects under simplified procedures.

“This will enable projects to protect energy facilities, build new generation capacity and connect to the grid to be delivered more quickly,” Denys Shmyhal explained.
