Government approves draft law of the Ministry of Veterans Affairs introducing free medical examinations for veterans and families of fallen defenders

On December 27, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine agreed on amendments to the current law “On the status of war veterans, guarantees of their social protection” regarding medical examinations, drafted by specialists of the Ministry of Veterans Affairs.

They introduce free preventive medical examinations of at least once a year for war veterans, family members of fallen (deceased) veterans, families of fallen (deceased) Men and Women Defenders of Ukraine.

Currently, the Ministry of Veterans Affairs, in cooperation with the Ministry of Health, is actively working to improve provision of modern and quality medical services to veterans and their families.

Introduction of free preventive medical examinations will improve effectiveness of disease prevention among veterans, their family members and family members of fallen defenders, early detection of health problems and timely medical care.

The draft law approved by the Government will be sent for consideration to the relevant parliamentary committee and further adoption by the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.
