  • Government supported the initiative of the Ministry for Reintegration of Temporary Occupied Territories - responsibility for children during evacuation was strengthened

Families, as well as foster carers and children's homes that raise foster children, orphans or those deprived of parental care, may lose the right to care for them if they expose the children to great risk and refuse mandatory evacuation.

The state will entrust the fate of these children to more responsible educators - in safe regions where the little ones are evacuated.

Institutions or educators will be determined by the National Social Service on the basis of information from local state administrations, local self-government bodies about the presence in the mentioned areas of foster families, family-type children's homes, families of foster educators, institutions where children are expected to stay 24 hours a day.

The relevant resolution was adopted today by the Government at its meeting. The Ministry for Reintegration of Temporary Occupied Territories initiated the document, which was drawn up to implement the decision of the meeting of the Coordination Staff on the mandatory evacuation of the population of Donetsk region.

As was reported earlier mandatory evacuation from Donetsk region is currently ongoing. Since August 2, when it began, about 10,000 civilians have already left for safe regions. The evacuation coordination headquarters is headed by the Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine Iryna Vereshchuk.
