Government allocates more than UAH 22 billion of financial resources provided by partners for priority recovery projects: Denys Shmyhal

The Government has allocated more than UAH 22 billion of financial resources provided by partners for recovery needs. The decision was made at an extraordinary meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers, said Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal.

According to him, almost UAH 18.5 billion from the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) will be transferred to healthcare, education, agriculture, humanitarian demining and the restoration of municipal services. About UAH 1.4 billion from JICA will also be earmarked for the rehabilitation of the energy sector and for training and education of sappers. The Government has distributed almost UAH 2.2 billion of budget support from the European Union to rebuild and modernize port infrastructure.

"We are grateful to our friends and partners for their solidarity. The reconstruction of Ukraine will be a major global project, the success of which will determine the future of Europe and the world," said Denys Shmyhal.

He emphasized that Ukraine's reconstruction was taking place in priority areas, where people needed it most.
