The Government has approved sending passports and identity cards to return to Ukraine by international mail.
This innovation is aimed at helping Ukrainians leave the temporarily occupied territories and russia.
The decision adopted by the Cabinet of Ministers was developed based on the results of the work of the Coordination Headquarters for ensuring the departure of Ukrainians from the TOT through the territory of third countries to Ukraine. It is headed by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Territories Iryna Vereshchuk.
The deportation of Ukrainians from the temporarily occupied territories to russia has become a large-scale crime of the occupiers. At the same time, citizens are often left without any identity documents. As a result, it is difficult for them to cross the border when trying to leave the russian federation for third countries.
The innovation will allow Ukrainians - both deportees and those who have left for third countries - to be provided with travel documents to return home.
This decision was made yesterday at a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine. Today, the Government re-voted on the resolution in order to clarify the legislative terminology.
