    Authorized representatives of the Governments of Ukraine and the Republic of Belarus signed a Protocol on cooperation in transboundary waters. The protocol is mandatory for both Ukrainian and Belarusian sides. The said document stipulates for further mutual cooperation between the two states in transboundary water objects in the spirit of good-neighborliness and mutual understanding.

    "Today's signing of the Protocol is another important step on the way of joint action of our countries on the issues of border waters. We will continue to support the incentives of countries aimed at close cooperation on the management of border waters, protect them from pollution, flood protection, preventing emergencies, and also in the field of operational exchange of hydrometeorological and hydrogeological data", the Ukrainian Government Commissioner Mykhailo Khorev said.
