    The Government of Ukraine outlines creation of a favorable business environment capable of attracting investments, updating production processes, creating new jobs in the most promising areas as one of its priorities.  Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman  made this statement during a meeting with representatives of Danish companies operating  in Ukraine. The meeting was held on the eve of the visit of the Head of Government to Denmark, one of the main events of which will be the international conference on reforms in Ukraine.

    "I would like to commend the high level of our bilateral relations with Denmark. We have a growing trade turnover, and we are glad that Danish business is operating in Ukraine. The development of the economy and the creation of conditions for growth are of predominant importance for us. Moreover, we have provided the basis for such growth".

    "We are very pleased to attend this meeting and we praise your desire for reforms aimed to ensure economic growth and investment attraction" , stressed said Ruben Madsen, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Denmark to Ukraine, who also took part in the meeting.

    The Head of Government stressed that Ukraine and Denmark have a wide range of spheres of cooperation. "We have lots to talk about - from political issues to deepening economic cooperation. There are a lot of challenges facing us that require special attention, the Prime Minister stressed. - The development of investment cooperation is of paramount importance, and in view of this, we believe that the business environment in Ukraine should be competitive ", Volodymyr Groysman added.

    According to him, the Government's economic policy is focused on the interests of society and entrepreneurship. However,  the agenda of the Cabinet of Ministers encapsulates not only regulatory initiatives but also active support for the implementation of fundamental changes in various spheres , inter alia in the judicial system. In this context, the Head of Government again recalled  the importance of the creation of the Anticorruption Court and the commitment to ensure its work as soon as the legislative decision in the Parliament will be adopted.

    The  meeting participants discussed many issues of mutual cooperation, considered the concrete cases of the work of Danish companies in Ukraine and agreed that the transformations that Ukraine is currently undergoing are obvious and perceptible. Moreover, it is not just about economic issues and the protection of investors' rights, but also about solving social problems - in particular, in education, the health system and the system of efficient consumption of resources. According to the Prime Minister, the attention being paid today to these sectors is significant. Volodymyr Groysman  invited the Danish business to take a closer look at the privatization opportunities of Ukraine and to more actively develop innovative directions  in pharmaceuticals, logistics, processing of agricultural products, energy, tourism, etc.

    "We are open to cooperation, the Prime Minister stressed.  I am interested in successful business. Your success is a success of Ukraine, and we are aiming for this target".


    On the outcomes of 2017, the total volume of trade in goods and services between Ukraine and Denmark grew by 14.4% to $ 540.6 million. In the first quarter of this year  it made up $ 136.9 million (an increase of 22.7%). More than 150 Danish companies are already operating in Ukraine, in particular in the field of agribusiness, logistics and trade. The main sectors of Danish business in Ukraine are agriculture, IT, energy and light industry.

    At the beginning of the year the volume of Danish investment in the economy made up a sum worth $ 150 million. Denmark is on the list of promising markets for the export of Ukrainian products. The main articles of Ukrainian exports to Denmark are textiles, furniture, clothing, milk, eggs, honey, metals, and machine building products.
