The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has allocated over UAH 8.121 billion from the state budget reserve fund for the construction of fortifications. The Government made the decision at a meeting on 23 April 2024.

"We continue to work on strengthening Ukraine's defence capabilities, strengthening the frontline and borders of our country. Work to strengthen existing and build new fortifications that will effectively deter the enemy and save the lives of our defenders is underway around the clock. The Government is committed to meet all current financial needs. Today, we have allotted another UAH 8 billion from the state budget reserve fund to the regional military administrations involved in the construction of fortifications," said Yuliia Svyrydenko, First Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine and Minister of Economy.

This time, the funds were allocated to eight regional military administrations involved in the construction of multi-echelon defence fortifications in key areas.

Since the beginning of 2024, the Cabinet of Ministers has allocated about UAH 38 billion for the construction of fortifications (including today's decision).
