According to the results of 2018, foreign trade in agrarian and food products between Ukraine and European countries increased by 11.4% compared to the last year’s indicators and amounted to $ 9 billion, of which $ 6.3 billion -Ukrainian agricultural exports. This was announced by Deputy Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine on European Integration Olga Trofimtseva.
"Ukrainian exports of agricultural products to the EU countries continue to demonstrate annual growth: in 2016 it was slightly more than $ 4 billion, in 2017 - $ 5.8 billion, and in 2018 it exceeds $ 6.3 billion. This dynamics proves success of Free Trade Agreement between Ukraine and the European Union in the field of agro-industrial complex. This gives us reason to say that Ukrainian producers are competitive in the markets of European countries and can successfully export their products in accordance with the highest standards of safety and quality ", the Deputy Minister on European Integration stressed.
According to Olga Trofimtseva, the key export items supplied to the European Union’s markets are grain-$ 2.2 billion, oilseeds - $ 1.1 billion and oil - $ 1.1 billion.
Moreover, the Deputy Minister stressed that the TOP-5 trade partners of Ukraine in the EU are headed by the Netherlands with a share of $1.2 billion%. And then Spain - $1.04 billion, Italy – $ 737.9 million, Germany $ 667.4 million, and Poland $ 656.7 million.
