srebmeToday, October 18, the Ukrainian delegation is in Washington, DC, meeting with IMF representatives.
"Talks with the IMF are now in its active stage, the mission will soon arrive in Kyiv," comments Prime Minister of Ukraine Oleksiy Honcharuk the visit of the Government’s team.
The Government officials also inform about the positive assessment of Ukraine by the Director of the IMF European Department Poul Thomsen. According to Mr. Thomsen, the previous two programs with Ukraine were quite successful, Ukraine has made considerable progress in achieving macroeconomic stability, and "economic growth was rather robust", although "Ukraine needs to do better."
The members of the delegation informed that following the talks with the IMF in the coming weeks, the mission would be sent to Kyiv for further discussion of all details of cooperation.
