  • Ukraine won 200 licenses for the participation in the Second European Games

    The second European games will be held from June 21 to 30, 2019 in Minsk, the Republic of Belarus, with over 4,000 top athletes from 50 European countries, including 200 Ukrainian athletes.

    The participants will compete in 200 medal events in 23 disciplines, of which 18 Olympic disciplines, namely badminton, 3x3 basketball, boxing, free fight, Greco-Roman wrestling, track, highway cycling, canoeing and kayaking, gymnastics, calisthenics, judo, karate, track and field, table tennis, trampoline, rifle and pistol shooting, shotgun shooting, archery; and 3 non-Olympic disciplines: sambo wrestling, beach soccer, acrobatic gymnastics.

    It should be noted that competitions in eight sports will become qualifying to the XXIIII Olympic Games 2020 in Tokyo.

    Competitions in badminton, boxing, kayaking and canoeing, and judo will be held in the status of the European Championships.

    On the outcomes of the qualifying competitions for participation in the second European games, Ukrainian athletes won 200 licenses in 21 disciplines, namely:

    • Badminton – 7 licenses (4 men's and 3 women's).
    • 3x3 basketball – 8 licenses (1 men’s team and 1 women’s team).
    • Boxing – 13 licenses (10 men's and 3 women's).
    • Free fight – 11 licenses (5 men's and 6 women's).
    • Greco-Roman wrestling – 6 licenses.
    • Canoeing and kayaking – 20 licenses (7 men's and 13 women's).
    • Track cycling – 6 licenses (4 men's and 2 women's).
    • Highway cycling – 15 licenses (8 men's and 7 women's).
    • Gymnastics – 6 licenses (3 men's and 3 women's).
    • Calisthenics – 6 licenses.
    • Judo – 16 licenses (9 men's and 7 women's).
    • Karate – 6 licenses (2 men's and 4 women's).
    • Track and field – 21 licenses (10 men's and 11 women's).
    • Beach soccer – 12 licenses.
    • Sambo wrestling – 15 licenses (6 men's and 9 women's).
    • Archery – 4 licenses (1 men's and 3 women's).
    • Rifle and pistol shooting – 11 licenses (6 men's and 5 women's).
    • Shotgun shooting – 3 licenses (1 men's and 2 women's).
    • Trampoline – 4 licenses (2 men's and 2 women's).
    • Acrobatic gymnastics – 5 licenses (1 men's and 4 women's).
    • Table tennis – 4 licenses (1 men's and 3 women's).

    The Ministry of Youth and Sports together with the National Olympic Committee of Ukraine, sports federations carried out a number of organizational and practical measures to create the necessary organizational, financial, logistical, scientific, methodological, medical and biological conditions to ensure the effective preparation of teams.
